Do I Need a Fitness Coach?

What good will coaching do…I know how to workout. 🧐

The two most common people who need coaching are;

☝️Those too humble to ask for help.

✌️Those too proud to accept help.

☝️ We don’t want to look silly, we’re new to the gym and we need to know where to go, how to move and…how does this machine work again.

Coaching helps us find the correct technique, keeps us safe and can make things easier or a little harder. 😈

And, most importantly, coaches can relate the session, program or exercise to your goals. 🎯

✌️If we think we don’t need coaching…we probably do, and possibility fall into the second category.

Coaching gives us a fresh perspective.

They observe us and critique us, looking for the 1% improvements to increase performance. Observing from the outside they can spot things we may miss when trying to coach ourselves.

Spotting the hidden issues takes experience and coaches who coach often, know how to look and what to look for…then how to communicate changes, recommendations and insights.

Sometimes coaching can be rebuilding technique from bad habits. Making minor adjustments to form or a pat on the back. 👏

All with the intention to help us increase performance, find efficient technique but also keep us safe.

As much as we think we’re accountable to our calendar, alarm clock or smart watch…it’s just not the same as looking someone in the eye.

🤝 Coaches keep us accountable.

Turning up, when it’s cold, 5am, and we’re sore is easier when someone is there with us.

Or putting in the boring work (did someone say 90°-90°🫢) because it doesn’t look good on the gram…it’s better with a coach.

We won’t miss a day or a week when we have someone relying on us, in our corner, helping us succeed.

Maybe 🤔 we still think we don’t need coaching.

Or, perhaps coaching can benefit us, take our training to the next level, help with that next big goal.

The choice is yours, but, I know what I’d choose!
